F3: Black Magic Video Assist - 60p With 444 Upgraded F3?

Currently shooting a project with the F3/7Q. There's a lot of 60p, so that is needed. I want to drop some weight and size. Has anyone successfully recorder 60p from the F3 using the black magic video assist? Hoping to replace the oddessy with the upgraded f3/video assist combo.

Hey Ben,

Yeah you can get 1080 60fps into the BMVA with the upgraded 444 F3, you can't get 444 1080 24/25/30p though. That is my setup - I like the 7Q, but it is just a bit big on the F3 - I save it for the F35. The BMVA is pretty good - it has a few quirks, but can't beat the price!

I don't think you'd be saving all that much weight to be honest. Plus the mini-SDI ports on the Blackmagic are just an awful interface - and no one ever has spare mini-SDI cables on set if they start wcting up.
