Black Magic Intensity Pro crashes FCP on Mac Pro

I've got a Mac pro dual xeon 2.26 8 core with 12 gigs of ram and an intensity pro card. I have tried several different pci slots to no avail. Every time I open final cut with the drivers and card installed, Final Cut will crash after about 3 seconds of the loading screen. Deleting the preferences fixes this for the next open only, and even then fcp is insanely snow and the quality of video is horrible. When final cut does run, I cannot get an hdmi signal in or out. I have tried a canon vixia hf200, an hv40, panasonic hmc40 and a sony hdv deck. I have tried about every setting in the list for compression type, resolution etc. Im using the latest version of final cut with all updates for osx as well. I'm running out of ideas and am starting to think the card may be defective, but hopefully it is just user error. This is my first post here, and I want to thank anyone who tries to help me in advance! I really appreciate it.

Does it work with the software that is included with the intensity?

I know its a delayed post but I goggled a similar issue. We are trying to use a HMC40 and capture with the intensity pro on a i7 mac pro. We can ONLY see it in FCP and not in any of the included software like On-Air. We wanted to use the HMC40 as a webcam most importantly. Its not showing up as a camera in any other programs we use.

Anyone help us ?
