Hi Guy's

I testend today my Hyper Deck shuttle, so I recorded straight from thé SDI to the shuttle and setted the recording format on the AF100 to 1080P
after recording on thé shuttle I pulled it in to Final cut trough the SSD disk. Gues what !, the format say's the .mov file is 1080i ? aldough
I dont see any interlacing lines? , the image itself is stunning but the file is huge 30 sec results in 4 gig

I dubbelchecked the menu settings on the Cam and saw the SDI output can only be set on 1080i or 720p
However they claim the Panasonic can output 1080p ?

Has anyone have experience with Black magic shuttle

Thx, Katty

My Hyperdeck Shuttle files do not report as being 1080i in either Premiere Pro or QT Player ( Inspector)

Both report 1920 x 1080 etc...

They do not look like "i" footage.

Hi Shooter ,

thanks for the reply , it doesn't say exacly that it's interlaced but when I pulled it in Final Cut and asked me to use the video setting of the file and it sets the timeline as HDTV 1080i with an Upper Odd field ?
also when I click the specifications of the file itself it shows a field dominance Upper. So that means it sees it as an interlaced wright?

Perhaps it could do the fact that I have an AF101 euro version and I can only set the SDI output to 1080i and 720p50
But I did record 1080p on camera settings. Do you push out the signal at 1080/24psF course I don't have that function on my AF101

I am in PAL land also (AF102)

Create... then drop it on a progressive sequence if FCP allows it.
Ignore the recommendation from FCP which might only be finding a close fit based on px dimension.

Hi I just pullend it in Premiere and indeed it shows no sign of upper field , thats good, but in after effects specifications say again upper , I am in Pal land to :-) the footage does seem great quality dough.
But het Shooter have you seen the tests on Zacutto the AF Panasonic came out verry good so am quit happy about that , but what surpriced me a lot is that the standard 4.2.0 compression held up visualy better
then the 4.2.2 ? now how can that be, of course when you tweek the collors it could mayby a different ball game.

Your wright Shooter THX ! It's just FCP witch might only be finding a close fit based on px dimension as you sayed, but stil its a bit strange course the my AF101E manual say's my SDI only outputs 1080/50i or 720/50p
is there a downpull happening in the shuttle that convert it to progressieve then? course that might only work with the psF wright?
