I've had my DVX-100A for a while now, and something unusual came up on a shoot today. While recording, the image I would get three jaggy black bars through the image. Other parts of the frame looked "torn" and not exposed properly. It looked like the old days of pausing a 3/4" tape deck and watching the lines on the screen when you didn't have enough heads on the video drum to produce a clean still frame. I was recording on the scene 5 setting, standard 24P with no special settings. The OIS was off, and the battery was fresh. The only way to get rid of this was to power off and on the camera. What was strange was that it never produced this when the scene was rehearsed, only when the camera was recording. And yes, it was recorded to tape. Has anyone ever encountered this before? The feedback is appreciated.
