Black balance question

If I use the reset button on the camera, Will this reset the Black balance as set by the factory?

I must have held the White balance button to long during a shoot .
I saw the auto black balance in the veiw finder so I shut the camera off and then turned it back on hoping it would clear the setting.
My footage has a tiny bit of a milky look to it now and I had to try and correct it in post.

can I just put the lense cap on and black balance it that way?

To which I add a question of my own:

How is Black balance different from White Balance? I understand the difference in brightness, but they should both be neutral, right? So if I do WB for a white card, shouldn't that automatically adjust the color balance for blacks?

Or could it be that highlights and shadows could have different color temperature?
