Black and White

I am currently preparing to shoot a short on the DVX-100a, and it will be in Black and White. For quality purposes, would it be better to shoot it in Black and White, or shoot it in Colour and then make in Black and White in Premiere Pro, or does it really matter which way I do it.

You can't shoot in B&W on the DVX, but that's a good thing because you have more control if you do it in post.

make sure you turn down the chroma level to -7 it reduces the color noise, and reds get less blockie. which when trandslated to B&W looks more natural.

Always shoot color, no matter what. That way, if you need to boost the contrast of a sky, you can just add some red to it then make it B&W, same for if a skin tone starts blending into the BG, just add some magenta to differentiate it.
