Bishop of 7th, NEW JEANS AD CAMPAIGN. shot on HVX200 n REDROCK. must see!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you shoot this? I like it a lot. Particularly lighting of girl at the mirror. I really want to know how you achieve that sense of sharp edge to edge focus. I just finished a show on the HVX with redrock and cannot get full edge to edge sharpness. It's driving me mad. Wides look soft, check out trailer here, you'll notice particularly in opening shot.

You can also downlaoad a full HD version of this trailer at the Pirate Bay if you have bittorent. I'd like to know how you think it compares. I think mine looks soft compared to yours. Yours looks great!

hey sam, iam glad you enjoyed it. as you noticed in the spot i dont have any wide establishing shots. i didnt want to establish the area because i wanted to make the spot as intimate as possible. whenever i use a lenses wider than 35, i start noticing distortion so it wasnt a problem on this shoot.

All my lenses are the best nikons you can get your hands on, I also shoot detail level +4 n detail coring +4 in order to artificially enhance the sharpness in the camera and it helps because the redrock is as soft as you can get.

believe it or not, I was a 1 man crew on this shoot. I actually operated, did the lighting and pulled focus all by myself. and oddly enough I was able to pull it off and it worked to my advantage because I was able to throw it in and out of focus and motivate it with camera moves.

Please guys let me know what u think, the more feedback the more i learn and in turn I will answer any questions you guys may have.

I haven't tried enhancing the detail level. I will look at that. Actually I saw another of your videos, the 80s tv one? That was also impressive, but I think I noticed a bit of the softness that plagues me. Not so noticable though. Maybe I'm just oversensitive to my own stuff. Did you get a chance to look at it and tell me if you think it looks softer than what you're getting. We have a lot of problems calibrating redrock all the time.

Sam

yes, most adapters vignette on wide angle lenses. less on pl mount lenses and more on still camera lenses for obvious reasons. i love the 35mm 1.4 nikon because its pretty sharp in the corners espiecelly at a 2 and even more at a 2.8

I like the over all look and choice of shots. Some shots were a little soft, also I think the edit needs a little work. But over all good work.

I think it looks really good. The anamorphic aspect ratio doesn't do it for me on this one. But nice picture and concept.

ur right about the anamorphic, i shot this in 16x9 the editor took it upon himself to trim the frame. sucks but what can u do. ur also right about the edit.

the shooting style and the lighting is all i did on it. and the out of focus shots were done on purpose.

thanks again for the feedback

thanks kohli. it is much appreciated. we gotta shoot something together someday. ive never met you but i feel likei know u
