"Nice little lathe youve got there... If you need anything CNC milling let me know...."

Yea it's a 9 x 20 BL, really all I need at the moment for a lathe, but everyone can always use more torque. :) I'm running a CNC mill myself, and was just about to convert this lathe to CNC, but I'm buying a complete Tormach setup instead (CNC lathe & mill). Thanks for the offer

Are you running a milltronics, Haas or daewoo VMC ?

Thanks guys I'll keep you updated.

This is about the best I can do-

It is the small block at the left side, which screws directly onto the lens barrel.

Its a converted X2, can get 0.006mm tolleracnes on it. Im changing out the leadscrews for proper CNC ones too.

Not got it yet though...

Are you using the xylotex stepper controller? They seem like the best ones, but caus they have lead in the solder, they wont send them to the uk caus of RoHS.

There's a big underground movement on all of the X seig models. I can't play around with the little machines anymore, making way to many parts and having to reset the machine every time. This is why I'm upgrading to a much more efficient machine, possibly with a ATC too.

Leadscrews or do you mean ball screws ?

Bummer ! I actually had to solder my whole board together myself. Took about a week to complete and clean, but came out very nice. It was a kit that I bought.

The BTS photos is the cap to the gimbal, which I should have finished tonight. I need to thread the ID and then off to making the handle & yoke. :)

BTW if anyone needs something fabricated, please feel free to PM :)

Latest update, the handle. I had a few problems with the tool rubbing earlier in the night, but just about fix that. This is still being turned, but thought I'd doc. every step of the way. :)

Enjoy

**Yoke Update**

It's not done just yet. I'm working on the handle, bearing spacers and then off to sanding & polishing. :)

Very nice, is that CNC cut?

If its going on any kind of film or video device, dont polish it, it will reflect light everywhere... Can you get it anodized black?

Yes I'm looking into anodizing or possibly brushing the aluminum. I think the anodize will look much better, but need to get a kit.

I've found these "Home Brew"

(Includes An Instructional DVD)

I think we've talked about this before, have any experience with these kits ?

Yes CNC.

Yea I bet you did. Dude that's consider doing it the old way with the kits and products they have now days. Be very careful, I've seen some pretty bad stuff. That stuff will eat your skin/hand right off.

I'm looking into the one kit, but not sure which way I wanta go just yet.

How fast do it penetrate using such a high acid content (how many mm per hr/minute) ?

How did you get a bottle of sulfuric acid anyway ? It's very hard to find that kind of stuff around here, and when you do they want a commercial license for it.

Hi,

Not sure how quickly it burns stuff, but a 2 penny peice is gone in about 10mins.

I own a company that has an account with a large chemicals suppplier. I just added this onto one of the orders and it arrived with all the other chemicals we use. no licence or questions asked. Its 98 percent concentrated, and it scares the shite out of me.

Can you paste me to one of these kits?
