Birger Adapter April 1 Update- NAB/AF100/FS100

I'm not on Twitter, but I checked for Birger updates there, then called Erik.
He will notify via Twitter and the email list.

He expects to announce delivery "1 to 2 days before NAB, or at NAB."

And no, no April Fools here...


@ErikBirger @hoodvideoshop Feel bad saying this but its as disappointing as the situation with ViewFactor high hopes, no delivery on them.
@paladin2664 I am also disappointed w/ schedule. Your comparison offends me. Birger did not take customer money to help fund development.

@ErikBirger what sort of time frame are we looking at for this FS100 adapter? Does that mean we will have to wait till after NAB?
@hoodvideoshop All will be revealed at NAB. I can confirm that the Birger adapter for the Sony FS100 will not ship until after NAB.

@aladdinroyaal We will be selling through dealers. We will show final product at NAB. When dealer list is ready we will tweet.

maybe u r right, completion not in product quality/functionality of course, but in time .... when the finale product will be out, as if there will be new delays again from birger side then .....maybe there will be no reason to bring af100 model out at all...... others will fill the market..... , and next year pany will make a new cam for sure....
 
well i still would like to see a final product if they had it at NAB and hear/see what else they do for other cams...... heard they do for red as well something....
so a new clip would be nice to see

He mentioned nothing about mount adapter for AF100/101 in his Twitter post on Monday about his NAB booth demo set up. Is there a functioning model at his booth?
 
Birger did have a working model setup but i didn't get a chance to play with it. from talking to them it seemed like they are working on getting the sony f3 mount out first and the af100 mount should follow about a month or so later.

Isn't that more or less word-for-word what they said a year ago? And still, neither version has seen the light of day. I'm glad I bought the Redrock adapter when it came out instead of continuing to wait. It's not as slick, but I've been making pictures with it for months now.

Did Birger mention capabilities of the EF adapter for the AF100 at all? Will it still do AF/IS as well as aperture?

very funny! but still i will buy it if its ever will comes out, i only hope the new pany that i hope will comes out next year will has the same mount, otherwise it will be a very stupid investment..... as it looks like the new pany will come out few months later after birger mount.... if not together.....

btw seems like that the follow focus used with red one before will work with new birger as well......
 
Redrocks adaptor is shrinking the potential customer pool for birger. The late market arrival will put them at a dangerous disadvantage.
