Binaural Recording

Hi,

I am wondering are you guys interested in binaural recording? I think it is cool technique and might be nice to try to films/games.

"Binaural" is a term that was used before "stereo" became the common term. You'll find old 45s and 77s (vinyl records, in case you're wondering) that are labeled as binarual. That said, this kind of binaural recording is very limited in application. As you found through your reading on Wikipedia (and quoted in your first video), this is a technique that works only for headphone playback. It's not intended for speaker systems, and use in films especially would be tricky.

Hi Alex,

Yes I know and it would be tricky but I think it could be nice experiment. They actually tried it in Bad Boy Bubby as alternative audio track.

Lots of people sitting at work with their tablet, watching movies on the sly....headphones are not unlikely.
