SWEET! A guy I rode with during my last 24hr MTB race was racing a Lynskey 29er. I can't get over how big 29" wheels are...They make a 6'1" guy look like a kid riding a bike that's on the verge of being too big.

yeah.. i'm hovering around 6'5". it feels real good. just got it home yesterday but i probably wont get to really ride it for a good week.

I just signed up for the basic motorcycle riding course. The earliest I could get was end of July if you can believe that... it looks like the rest of Los Angeles really wants to get their motorcycle permit too...

Anyway, the class runs 250 bucks but you're almost guaranteed to pass (93% pass rate), and since I've actually taken the class before, about 10 years ago or so, I'm not worried about it. The best part is you'll save money on your motorcycle insurance.

My Brother has been riding for ohh, maybe 35 years now.
He has a collection of British war bikes and some others that he restores in his spare time.

I'm trying to get him to give you a shout, Kimko. He's ridden his bike across Canada, the US and Britian.

I'll send him a email now that I have the thread at hand.

//sent bro an email. Maybe he'll pop in sometime.

I think that V-6 is you.

The little red scooter...

Next week I think I'll take a ride up the 5 to the Templin Highway, around Lake Hughes, over Lake Elizabeth Road, up San Francisquito Canyon, Spunky Canyon, Bouquet Canyon, through Soledad Canyon to Valencia Boulevard to the 5 and back down to Los Angeles.

About a four-to-six hour ride, with a little bit of everything. Canyons, twisties, shady streets, desert, woods and lunch at Harley's Rock Inn.

Anybody feel like coming along?

He wouldn't have any Vincents, would he? Those are sweet!

My Dad used to ride a Black Shadow. Ian did have one also but I think it had a cracked head. Not sure if he has it in boxes now or got rid of it.
I don't know, I'll have to ask when he drops in.

//Update: I talked to Ian and he said he never owned a Vincent. I thought I saw one, guess not. So, currently he has Ariels and Triumphs. Although he is putting around on a Kawi 500 triple, not sure what year.

The B Series was my favorite. If he had the whole bike, it would be well worth the cost to have a new head machined. That was the thing about Vincent, they made the bikes easy to work on, parts easy to machine and replace.

If I had my license, I'd definitely be up for it, but you're not supposed to ride on the freeway if you have a temporary permit...

OK, it's no a Harley, but the Big Ruckus gets me there at over 60 MPG.

That would be better to ride on than one of those little red scooters. I don't think I could ride a scooter...
