I meant ghetto by the universal ladder being used for everything.
The basement still doesn't look ghetto at all.
Oh, no.... I knew what you meant, Aram... But after looking at my statement, I can see why you thought that.

I just took a look through all of your thread...you use ladders for everything....lol!
I even use them for reaching high places occasionally! :)

But it is funny.... I was about to go spend money on 2" black pipe, flanges and connectors and make a few lighting trees. Then I realized that I could save $40-50 and use some scrap lumber at my house. (I am a scenic designer/carpenter as well and have tons of debris in my barn!)

I started to build a few trees out of 2x4's when I saw my ladders hanging. I thought, hmmmmm..... stable with plenty of levels to place lights. Plus, very portable!

Yes, they've come in handy. And they were not an additional expense.

Thanks for visiting!

Thanks Kyle! I appreciate the comments.

It's gonna be a fun festival!!!

(You should put a banner up in your signature.... advertise your film, "Developed.")

 thats a good idea, i'll get on that (now that I actually have some real footage) -- I also need to change the poster a little bit because i've since changed the font and overall 'feel' of this production. -- oh well, it'll have to wait until later today. gotta head to theatre class! -- PEACE OUT

hey theaterguy, just wanted to pop in and say it's looks like you are doing some awesome stuff with some crazy makeshift rigs. kudos!

And does everyone have a creepy basement? Who keeps making all of these basements like that?

Thanks for popping in! Always welcome!!!

Gotta do crazy makeshift rigs until my camera and equipment start making me more $$$!

And yeah, love my basement. Made in 1874. Real creepy place. (It's a good place to hide my porn collection.... my wife won't go down there! :) D'oh!)

HAHAHA! That's good. I like football, too. Even weirder.

Once, when this show closed that I was performing in, the cast all wanted to get together on a Sunday to have a cast party. I said that I couldn't because of my football viewing schedule. They all looked at me like I had three heads!

I am an F1 fan myself, I never miss a Grand Prix, so it happened to more times than I can remember going somewhere and searching for a TV set to tune in.

F1 are awesome. I went to the Indy 500 once. Oh, man. That was a great day! Something about the roar of those engines. My testostrogen was running high that day!

I'll bet. When I went to the Indy 500, I thought that I would never miss the event again. Unfortunately, I haven't been back since. But I am glad that I made it at least once. What a great time.

Alright! I have GOT to get back to work!!!

Until later -

LOL! Nothing precarious about my rigging. It may look dangerous, but I am safe all the way! ----ouch, what the hell? Dammit! My coffee mug just feel off my ladder and landed on my foot! :)

Hey TheatreGuy...nice bloody ceiling. You look like you're making great progress. Good luck man.

Thanks apollyon! Yeah... pretty cool shot.

Kind of a funny story here. A little behind the scenes BTS.

I installed a bathroom on the second floor of my house about 4 years ago. Then, about a month ago, my wife had a, um... "clogging incident" and came running downstairs to tell me the entire upstairs bathroom was flooded with water!

I ran up, saw the pool, went downstairs to my dining room (which is under the bathroom) and saw the ceiling bulging from water!

I thought, FREAKIN' A! I am going to lose part of my ceiling!!!

I grabbed my drill gun and a ladder (surprised?) and got up to the ceiling and began drilling holes for the water to escape. (I thought that if this worked, I would only have to putty up the little holes and repaint than have to replace a large section of my ceiling) Sure enough, the water found it's way through the many little holes and my ceiling was saved.

Well, I have yet to get around to patching and painting and when I was finding ways to add "blood elements" to my film, I thought... "Hey!" I have to fix this part of the ceiling anyways, why not create a pool of blood and shoot it!

Voila!

(I don't know how funny that actually is, but let it be a lesson to you if you ever find your ceiling bulging with water!) :)

lol...the drilling holes is a nice tip. I like you, you make the most of whatever you have at hand. I have a feeling if we were in the middle of a nuclear winter, you'd find a way to use radioactive people to film in the dark, since they glow so nicely :-)

LMAO!!! That's great!

Yeah, I like to consider myself a resourceful guy. Whether or not I am a filmmaker will be yet to be determined!

Thanks apollyon!

Oh! And if I have a ladder handy, we can hang them from it and create some nice overhead lighting!!!
