BIG TIME - What do you think?

I just had a thought... do you think any really BIG TIME movie director's, producers, writer's, or DP's travel the boards or are members of DVXuser? (besides Jack Stanley :)) I mean, there are a lot of you out there who are HIGHLY successful in your craft, and who've worked on a number of BIG films, but I mean, do you think people like Spielberg or Lucas, or M. Night, or Rodriguez has ever read this board?
 
We have a number of very accomplished and award-winning people who contribute here. They tend to keep a fairly low profile, though, and I don't blame them. Some are more open about it than others, but it's up to them.

I'd like to think the same thing.. however fame isn't something I crave... I just want to be able to make movies!
 
And yet....people here are forever slamming someone or other.

Imagine getting a job offer, showing up for an interview, and M. Night recognizing you from a photo here...and remembers what you said about him.

Don't let the door hit you. . . :)
 
I don't know how many "big time" people are on this board, but I can tell you that the Avid editor on Kong, and a Senior VFX Supervisor at Sony Pictures Imageworks (and lighting director on the movie "Monster House") are both members here. I think you'd be surprised at who some of the members are. But the more high-profile they are, the more they (obviously) prefer their privacy/anonymity. So we may never know how far and wide the reach of DVXUser extends!

Dude! I wonder if that's the same guy who I saw speak at NAB last year. Very cool indeed... as I am an Avid editor as well! :)
 
I happen to know, on good concious, that the director of some very large films peruses this site quite often. But I've also been told to keep quiet about it. Sorry.

yes, he is. between barry and i, we have won an emmy, wrote a book, become the resident guru on this message board, and won a tractor pull. can you guess which one of those was my gift to humanity?
