BIG PROBLEM with the FS-100 P2 PN Pulldown Removal

Okay, I think my footage is screwed, but I have no idea why. seeing that I never want this to happen again, I thought to ask the brain trust.

I shot with the HVX200 in 720p 24p mode.

My Firestore (FS-100) with the updated firmware was set to P2 PN.

The Firestore told me I have over 200 plus minutes to shoot, so I shot like a happy little camper.

When I imported the footage, the world exploded.

The clips are all sped up with real time audio. Since the clips are hyper fast, the real time audio is cut off due to the sped up video.

I have shot with the pull down remover before with no problems. The only difference I can think of is when I shot it when it worked, the variable frame rate was set at 24.

When I shot this time, it was set to default, which under 720p 24p, should be FRICKEN' 24! Right?

Any thought on how this got all screwy?

I guess I am answering my own question.

I played around with some of the settings and found that the timecode setting under UB MODE needs to be on FRAME RATE and certainly not TCG.

Does anyone know why this made a horrific difference? What is the inconvenient science behind that one?
