If those words have been displayed I think the user manual will say something about it.

Saludos

Hello yucateco,

We are an authorized Panasonic service center. There have been service bulletins published concerning that error. If it continues to be a problem, feel free to give us a call and we can take care of it for you.

According to a previous discussion on another forum, the psd ng camera system problem indicates a problem with camera shake compensation control. It does not affect recording, but may reduce the effectiveness of OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). When it comes on, you may have to stabilize the camera better, and not do hand-held shots. Mostly it is just irritating. In that forum, several members had sent their cameras in to Panasonic authorized centers for quotes, and were given quotes between $1800-$2100 as estimates. If the camera is still under warranty, you can send it in and they will repair it under warranty. We send all our rental cameras for warranty and out of warranty repair to:

Digitron Electronics
7801 E. Telegraph Rd.
Montebello, Ca. 90640
323-887-0777
(Attn. Simon)

Aren't authorized Panasonic dealerships supposed to have there own service center?

Also, the price range that Rush listed is for lens assembly replacement. That isn't always the case. Most of the time it's just a repair that requires no parts and minimal labor. If it does end up needing a new lens, then those prices sound about right.

I think Specialized is a little unique in that regard. Most shops are either sales or service. When I look for authorized service centers near me, not one that comes up is also an authorized sales center.

I wasn't sure. Thanks for clearing that up Barry.

Thanks for saying that we are unique too! We have things set up that way so that we can have a very close relationship with our customers. I often hear stories about returning something to a dealership and then it's sent off for two weeks, you can't contact the actual technician that is working on it, the salesman is your middle-man etc...

If you have any questions about your unit, you can talk to the guy working on it. Then if you have a question for the sales person, you can be transfered all in the same conversation.

It's something that we take a lot of pride in.

It depends on what the dealer chooses to concentrate their resources on. We specialize in sales and rentals, and when it comes to service, we have trusted companies that we direct customers to. Digitron is definitely one of those companies, and you can always speak to the head of tech there. When you call Panasonic Service on Cahuenga in Los Angeles, they will always refer you to Digitron. No dropped calls or "lost in limbo" on hold. We found that staying lean and keeping the service end to specialized companies allows us to focus more on sales, technical questions, and customer service. We don't have a roster of technicians with salaries to pay. We also look for ways to save folks money and help them work around problems, because we have nothing to gain from their products breaking down. We are all filmmakers looking to help everyone keep filming.
