Big price difference

[RussG]

I just noticed a dealer in NZ is listing the HVX200 (NTSC) for $AUD4930.00 and the HVX202 (PAL) for $6690.00 Any ideas on why there is such a huge difference? Are PAL people being robbed........

Prices from an authorised Pana dealer? Are their P2 cards comparably less?

Have a look at http://www.globalmediapro.com
I don't know anything about them apart from they seem way cheaper on lots of stuff.

Certainly better prices than local. Would likely be subject to GST (10%) on import, and possible duty (5%?).

Shipping costs and will it arrive, is what would concern me. That said, nice list prices, baffled by the NTSC price.

I think there are a few threads about these guys, might pay to search...

If I need a second US HVX, this place has my interest. Thanks for the info.

Be wary of so called "good deals".

Authorized Pana dealers will give you back up and support (if they don't Pana themselves will).

If you buy a “cheap” camera from an unauthorized dealer you can miss out on that support. And in some case warranty issues become hard to enforce
