I sold my Zeiss CP.2 to DVXuser BrandonWerlin Brandon Werlin here on marketplace and the guy is trying to get a refund from me with Paypal at the same time he is selling the lens on ebay. I don't know what he is thinking but it's very uncool! He claims I didn't supply the tool for the lens mount and the lens has several scratches on both the back and front optics. The sell didn't include any tools and I never stated it did. The Zeiss CP.2 85mm is mint. Now the funds are frozen and Paypal is looking into it but it's going to take 10 days from the date the dispute was filled. Ugh!

He gets the lens on Oct 10th and on the 15th it's for sale on ebay. Yesterday the 19th he files a dispute with Paypal and wont return my call or messages.

On Flickr he takes these pictures on the 15th and posted them on the 19th. to post for ebay listing. Same day he is disputing the lens purchase with me and Paypal

For several years I have had no issues selling and buying on here or ebay and I enjoy doing so here but when this stuff happens we have to look out for each other.

Damn, horrible that you have to deal with this. Hopefully paypal is rational and this is resolved. Keep us updated!
 
Thanks Rob. What a PITA. I had some plans that are on hold now that this guy is playing games with my money.
 
I hate scum like that. Hope you can get everything resolved properly Erik. I am always weary of people with low post counts or no reputation on the forum if I were selling.

Thanks! I just don't get this guy? I too am weary of low post count, but I've had smooth transactions in the past, but I guess I cant do this anymore with higher dollor amount items. Real names are helpful and that was a part of my decision to go ahead. Not anymore.

Pricks like this need a good ass kicking when they least expect it.

If you are reading this Brandon, do the right thing before its too late!
 
I never heard of "seller beware", but now I've just about seen it all.

Sorry to hear Erik, I know your demeanor from DVX and know you wouldn't do such a thing. What a bastard.
 
Dont worry erik . Paypal will cover for you since it is delivered. He can claim as not as described. Paypal will asked him to ship the lens back to you at his own cost.

His behavior is nothing short of strange. I don't see the logic in tying up my money and my Paypal account while he sells the lens on ebay the same time he his disputing the purchase. Seriously the lens is pristine.
 
Probably his own fingerprint! What's the point anyways, doesn't seem to be making much profit on eBay - unless double crossing you was the plan all along. Tell PayPal to look you up here and around the web, I guarantee this dude doesn't have the credibility you've earned. Sorry for the situation. Stressful.
 
Shouldn't the flickr stream be enough to show Paypal that he has the lens? I'm not one to handle such nice equipment, so I genuinely don't know the answer to this question, but is there any sort of identifying numbers (serial, etc) on those lenses?
 
Why would you sell to someone with 1 post? Just don't do it. As a general rule for me they have to have about 100 and have been on this board for a good while.

Paypal has all this info so I'm hoping this will end in 10 days from the date of his dispute claim. I have to wait. Sucks.

Erik, I hope you get this resolved. I gotta say, so many of my marketplace transactions have been very positive. Sucks to read stories that turn out otherwise.

All of mine have been as well. I made a bad call selling to this guy. That I take responsibility for.
