GH3 Better slow motion - use in-camera frame controls, or shoot @60fps and post conform?

To achieve slow motion footage on the GH3 I experimented by:

1) Shooting at 1080 @ 60fps and conforming the footage to 23.98 in Cinema Tools
2) Shooting at 1080 @ 23.976fps and using the in-camera frame controls to select "<<<40%"

Personally I found that option #2 yielded better looking results, whereas I would've expected #1 to look better because there are more frames captured. I dropped each onto 23.976 timelines in Premiere in order to view the results.

I would prefer to use #1, so at least I am recording some audio while shooting. I'm wondering if I'm approaching this the wrong way, or if there is a better workflow to achieve smooth slow motion with this camera?

Edit: I realized I wasn't using the correct shutter speeds when testing in option #1. Time to go back to the drawing board!

For some reason, your Option #1 isn't working on my FCP7 - Cinema Tools. I've shot plenty slow-mo on GH2 & was able to conform easily in Cinema Tools to 24P, but the option is greyed out on the GH3 footage. I also use Twixtor & your Option #2 works well for me as I notice no motion blur. I shot both methods at 120 shutter.

I wonder what the results would be if you bypassed Cinema Tools and simply used the Interpret Footage feature of PP.
