So I've decided to join the cult!!!!


Still need a few bits and pieces.. but i've got a few questions for my bros!

Whats a good V-mount battery plate with D-Tap that has the correct holes for the IF box?
How do I check/upgrade the firmware?
What are you guys doing for insurance? How much should I insure this for?

Congrats!

On the battery plate, many have used aftermarket brands and adapted them, etc. They al work one way or another.
If you can find one at a decent price the Sony BKP-L551 is perfectly designed for this camera. Fits right on the IF box, has the proper length XLR cable built in, etc. A little pricey, but I've never regretted getting mine.

Hey Patrick u lucky guy! Where did u purchase from? And are u gonna stick with PL or get the plate modded for Nikon? Very jealous, have been following the F35 closely for ages:)

I remember your sgpro footage from back in the day :-)
I use a Switronix plate for the sony F3 which lines up with 2 of the 4 holes.
You can check firmware and change settings much easier when connected to an Ethernet port.

The sgpro! i loved that thing :)

i got the whole kit with a beaten up arri base for around 8K US. got it from a cinematographer who owns a rental place in sydney. flew up there and picked it up yesterday! this one is number 25 he also had number 2 which was apparently the first production unit in the world :)

i'm speaking with a machinist about the nikon mount right now :)

i think i'm gonna go with the swittronics
