Has anyone here had any experience with the BETSO - WTCS-1 timecode slate ?
Wonder how it compares with the Denecke TS-C or the Ambient ACN-LS...

I have one. Unfortunately, I have no experience with other timecode slates. The Betso slate is very solid, and has some really nice features. I'm really liking the RF link with other Betso products. So, if someone turns off the slate, it will re-sync with my Betso SBOX-2RF in my bag when the slate is powered on.

Today I had a chance to compare the Betso slate against a Denecke TS-TCB slate. The Betso is a little smaller and lighter. In my opinion the Betso is easier to read. Denecke has been around for a while, and I'm sure the TS-TCB is robust, but it looks cobbled together.

Whether one is better than the the other, it would really depend on what features you need.

Thanks for the comments Kevin.
In terms of the feature set, is there anything you find missing that might be found on the Denecke ?

I think the Denecke TS-TCB slate does communicate with the MovieSlate app, which may be important to some. From what I read, when you compare the Betso WTCS-1 against the compact Denecke TS-C, then the Betso has much more features.

Is B:LINK enabled! Quite handy.

Originally based on the physical frame of a Denecke TS-3. The manual settings switches have been replaced with a single push and twist knob. It simply has a slot for the AA battery caddy, an antenna and a LEMO5 connector for External wired LTC IN and OUT. The new advancements to our ISM Band B:LINK network, allows the slate to report back its status, using the long range RF network, to the :wave or :pulse ‘master TX’ unit on set. This allows for remote monitoring of mode and battery status from the single app screen of MovieSlate 8 or the Timecode Buddy: app. Total confidence in the complete ‘sync setup’ across the set, truly a world’s first.
