Beta users of Duel Adapter to MacBook Pro

Any beta testers for the Duel Adapter XPress 34 to PCMCIA device? I would like to know that if the P2 import worked on a Powerbook Mac with PCMCIA slot, successfully, then why is the maker of the Duel Adapter saying that it needs a driver from Panasonic to make the adapter work on a MacBook Pro?

Sounds to me like the company needs to write a driver that mates the Duel Adapter to the MacBook Pro Xpress 34?

I'm not certain what your question asks.

There is a driver that is necessary to make the MBP "see" the EC/34 adapter.

Sorry if that was not clear. I am trying to simply ask who's responsibility is it to write a driver for the operation of the Duel Adapter device to allow importing of P2 content on a MacBook Pro.

You'd probably need two drivers installed; one so that the MBP recognizes the dueladapter at all, and the other (from Panasonic) so the system knows how to recognize a P2 card.

Im a beta tester. What Barry said. Also, the beta test deadline has ended. March 30th was last day.

how do you like the adaptor? i pre-ordered one..just want to know if its awesome?
thanks

its been unbelieveably awesome. has never failed me, on any set, even the most hectic. Recently used in a barn for 3 nights in a row and captured every bit perfectly without fail, mounted everytime.

Macbook Pro Core 2 Duo btw.

So what drivers do you need from Panasonic?
My adapter arrived today - of course it works (or at least it's recognized by my Macbook Pro). But the P2 card does not show up.

I can never find the panasonic site with their drivers - anyone have a link?

Thanks

I have the Macbook Pro Core 2 Duo 15" and I just received my Duel Adapter this afternoon and found that the included disk contains software drivers for Mac OS 10.4.8 ONLY. I am running 10.4.9 and the software will not load onto my laptop. I called their 24HR tech assistance and was informed that no updated driver is available at this time. Does anyone here know of a workaround other than retro-ing back to 10.4.8?

Well, not yet. Hope they have drivers for 10.4.9 soon so I can actually use the thing under MacOS when I get it. In the interim, what I intend to do is install the Windows drivers and use it under BootCamp.

im running 10.4.9, i believe i have different drivers.

But during the beta testing, this was one of the issues us Core 2 Duo MBP customers had, and they fixed it handily. It was odd to see it surface again. Ive got a hold of those drivers you you guys cant install, and event though its newer than the drivers i am using now, it says cant install on 10.4.9.

Odd huh
