Best way to power Ki Pro Mini on F3?

Yes, you can use a Zacuto Zwiss plate to mount a Ki Pro Mini and an Anton Bauer battery plate/battery. You will also need an Anton Bauer P-Tap to 4-pin XLR power adapter cable. An Anton Bauer Dionic 90 battery, used only to power a Ki Pro Mini would last approximately six hours. You could elect to power the Ki Pro Mini and the camera from a single Anton Bauer battery, keeping in mind that the battery would be depleted more quickly. Anton Bauer even makes a plate for this type of workflow and you can find it on their website.Hope this is helpful,Jon ThornSenior Product ManagerAJA Video Systems, Inc.Currently in Amsterdam at IBC

With brick batteries I use a D-tap cable with two 4pin XLR plugs. One powers the KPM and the other the camera. The single pole cable can power the TV Logic monitor. Or vice versa. The swit single pole to 4pin XLR is excellent. It leaves your d-tap free for the other things.

Or splice two of these together:

Some the options have also been discussed in this thread incase you're interested in having a look. I had recommended the single Zwiss plate over the AJA mount and two AJA plates you would need. Some pictures in the thread too of others who are actually using the setup.

The KiPro has a buttons just like a VTR (play, RR, FF, etc.) You can play out to an HMI or SDI monitor. It's very simple and effective.

If you use any sort of external monitor (Marshall 7", SmallDP, or even a 13",17" or whatever field monitor, loop it through the Ki Pro Mini. The Ki Pro Mini can play recorded files to it's video outputs.

The Ki Pro Mini will output live the selected input. Using the VTR buttons for playback overrides this, but as soon as you stop playback, it returns to the live feed. So yes, you can feed from the F3 to the Ki Pro Mini to your monitor.
