Best way to output for the cinema screen?

Hi all, I have an opportunity for a once only Cinema screening of my concert movie and I have no idea of how to get a good image onto a movie screen. (I have only made DVD's until now).

The film was shot 720Pn at 25fps. The theatre has a Barco projector with various inputs including component and SDI (but not HDMI). I need the best sound possible as well and don't know enough as to whether a P2 movie export would have embedded audio (for SDI input). I think maybe that needs a special card?

Any suggestions or pointers to relevant threads would really be very welcome.

Thanks for reading - hope you can help.

After you cut the Project, Export it Back to the DVCPROHD Format and put the Data Back on your HVX. I would use the HD Component Output of the Cam for Video. If your Film ist not mixed for Surround playback, you can just connect the Camera via the RCA Outputs to the Soundsystem of the Theater.

Thanks for your response - I will do as you suggest. The RCA outputs will be fine for the music - I had forgotten the 170 even had them - so thanks for the reminder! I was thinking I could somehow utilise the HDSDI out but I don't know enough about it. I will also burn a bluray disk for a back-up. So problem looks solved. The projector is a 6000 ansilumen Barco so I'm pretty excited about the nice picture it might throw for me.

The more I learn the less I know. I have just exported and watched my movie on a 50'' plasma screen via two separate renders. One using MPEG2 Bluray and then via Bluray disc and out via HDMI cable. The other as a P2 movie, back to the 170, and then out via component cable, as suggested above.

The Bluray was altogether the better product - much sharper, better colour. Could this just be the better cable? The P2 movie was 16Gb versus 6Gb for the MPEG, and retained its native DVCPro format, leading me to think it should have been the better image.

I will have time to test on the theatre projector but am trying to learn as much as possible beforehand. Any input gratefully received.
