Best way to mount a Zacuto EVF directly onto the camera?

I guess just attaching to the top handle is best. You could also remove the top handles and use the mount closest to the back. A Noga type arm is very handy.

Too much to the front.

Have a link?

I used the redrock arm mentioned above with a DP6 monitor and had to tighten the hell out of it before it stopped slipping. Bought the Noga arm in I believe the 9" version and it's fantastic. No slip with the DP6 or Zacuto EVF. Remember, just because the arm is 9 or 11 inches extended, doesn't mean you have to use it all. It can infinitely adjust to where ever you want it. You wont be disappointed with the Noga.

I will soon be coming out with a couple systems for mounting the EVF, both in the back as part of my NanoFlash arm and up front so the AF100 can be shouldered in a very balanced way. Both with a rail system and without. I plan to make it very adjustable and rugged. And the price will be right.

Stay tuned!

I use the Noga arm and flipped the EVF upside down. Then used the "flip screen" setting on the Zacuto. (This was a suggestion of other AF 100 poster, and I'm sorry but I've forgotten his name) Also used loctite on both handle and Zacuto EVF mounting screw holes to prevent slipping. Longer arm is not a problem as it can adjusted in infinite manner. I have a picture of my mounting rig in http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?243190-Post-Pictures-of-your-AF100-Rig/page11 Works well for me almost like a shoulder mount camera viewfinder. Adjustable with just one knob.

Olof,

Does your system allow the EVF to be easily, & quickly, rotated from a horizontal to a vertical orientation?

Noga Arms require a bit too much effort to do so.

Bern,
Yes I intend to make a very adjustable system for many different cameras. This is a great product and it needs a logical way to be mounted in many positions. I am working on different designs right now. I will keep everyone posted as soon as I have a solution.

I was actually working on a VF myself but when the EVF came out I decided not to because it is very good. So now I am working on the mounting system.
