I always edited my movies with adobe premiere because it's quick and so easy. i've tried a couple of times Avid but it'S so complicated for no reason. i know all the industry is using it so i was wondering if there a very good tutorial who explain all the features ( edit in the time line, edit the sound ....)
thanks

The manual.

Seriously. It's very good.

Avid makes some video training DVDs that will be a quickstart way to get going.

In my opinion Avid is no more complicated that any other NLE. Just don't think "This is how I'd do it in Premiere." Instead think "How do I do this in Avid." They're different beasts and trying to make one work like the other will just frustrate you.

It's a slow learning curve, but the power and options offered by Avid make it worthwhile, I think. I started with the online tutorials offered by VTC.com (you pay a a small monthly charge to do all the tutorials you like; just cancel your monthly subscription when you're done--I've actually returned to VTC a couple times). Anyhow, they do offer some basic Avid instruction.

I would second the avid tutorial dvds. My avid is an older one (4.5), but the dvd's are a great way to learn the basics no matter which version you are on....and I will agree with the above......I have used PPro1, and Avid is no harder to learn at all.
