best tripod for $1,000 range

I was looking into the 503HDV but am a bit lost on what legs to get with it
any suggestions on a different head or a good set of legs?
any suggestions at all? experiences?

Since we're on the topic, does anyone have any recommendations for a tripod (and head) that can hold at least 25 pounds? My old bogen can hold 22, but shes getting old and starting to fail me.

I love my Libec LS55, It works great, has a max load of 28pounds, the thing is twice the build of my old 503 bogen/frotto. I'm thinking there are so many questions about the Libec line I might do a full review on my ls55...

We just bought the libec. I think its the LS38 model. Love it. Best tripod ive ever used.
