Best transcoding app for A7s MP4 - ProRes

Davinci Resolve has quickly become my go-to editing and grading app. Unfortunately it won't import audio with native files so I need to transcode them and as I'm also shooting with the Shogun now it would be sensible to use the Prores codec. What apps will do this without loss of quality / least loss ( not bothered about time) ?

Depends what platform you are on. Oh wait. No ProRes on the PC.

You could Apple's Compressor.

If you have Adobe CC you could use Prelude.

If you need Prores on Windows, you can use this little free app:

It works great and it's fast as well (depending on the the CPU).

Have you raised this issue with Resolve support? With the version 12 full featured editing, this is something they need to fix, it's not like you are using some custom built camera, it's a very popular camera and needs to be fully supported.

You don't need to transcode to Prores, just rewrap the MP4 into MOV (no transcoding or loss of quality and very fast (about as fast as a file copy)).

Thanks JCS - looks like the perfect solution. Paid for it but the download link is broken so awaiting a response from the vendor.

Why not try Cliptoolz? Rewrap, Dnxhd, PRORES, it's all there. Used to be a paid software, now it's free!
