I know the Panasonic & Sony tapes are cheap, but of course we all know how JVC DV devices are very fragile, so they FORCE us to use JVC tapes.
The problem is that the JVC tapes are very hard to find, so I Have to special order most of the time. The JVC tapes I'm talking about are the ones mentioned in the manual, the HD versions...
Can I use the cheaper version JVC miniDV tapes? These are a little more expensive than the Sonys and Panasonics, but are a little more readily available than the HD series.
I don't want to send in my camera every second to JVC as I've had problems with their DV decks before (they hate non JVC branded tapes). Other DV devices from Panasonic and Sony chew up any tape you throw at them! Their DV transports are not as fragile as JVC's.
So any recommendations would be highly appreciated.
