Best settings for reducing horizontal lines??

I have noticed that a lot of the footage I captured today has some jagged horizontal lines.. I tried using the deniterlace in FCP (on the upper and lower fields) and it didn't seem to help much - just made the image more blurry..

Is there a setting on the camera that can reduce these lines? Or am I making an error when capturing the footage?

Turn down the detail level (-3 is a good round number) and don't set the vertical detail level so high in the scene file.
 
ok, I figured out how the change the scene settings... What would be an example of something where I would want to set the detail level high? Should I always keep it at a low number??
