Best settings for emulating color reversal?

Want to make my reds pop out and crush my blacks quite a bit on my HVX- hey that's like color reversal! And hey, I have NO IDEA where to start! (Well, I kinda do, I just want peoples scene file suggestions...the whole scene file exchange site is confusing).

Any takers? Just good ol' straight up answers would be appreciated.

Cheers :D

Color correct AFTER you shoot...not in camera. Doing it in camera limits what you can do in post. But this is coming from an editor.

That's right if you're not sure, because DVCPRO HD will handle a lot of correction in post...

But if you want to do it in the camera (I do, being a cinematographer - I like the image to look how I visualized it out of the camera) experiment with the Gamma and Master Ped settings.. Start with Cine-V Gamma and Master Ped at -4 to -7. You probably won't need to boost Chroma, because the HVX has a lot already.

Shoot a scene with a few different settings, burn it on a DVD and evaluate the results on a good TV... you don't absolutely need a production monitor, something that represents your target audience...

Trial and error ...
