Best setting for SlowMo...?

hey,
i'm looking for the best shuttersetting for doing a slowmo in post...
which software/ AE plugin yields the best results?
Are there any ways of recording more frames per second?
is there maybe a way to use a digital still camera and grab
frames direct to a HD? ???

The best slow-mo comes from recording 60i at 1/120 of a second, and importing into a 24P timeline and playing back at 40% speed.

For PAL users the equivalent would be shooting 50i at 1/100 and importing into a 25P project at 50% speed.
