Hi a friend wants to borrow my dvx100a for a 48hr film challenge in london, with the winner getting screened on the imax screen in london, question is , is the camera upto it? he likes idea of filming progressive, alot of the film will be under street lighting conditions, i've not tried this, anyone suggest what settings would get good results?

He's gonna want to use more than the available street lights or he'll end up with a pretty grainy image. Even using work lights would be better.

Do a quick test. Shoot at 25 with the lens wide open, try without any gain setting, then work your way through them and watch the results back......

Choose locations carefully.........

yeah I was wondering how they planned to screen dv films on imax, well guess the grain could be considered part of the atmosphere for a horror film, I will try a test later I think, cheers guys.

You could always write it into the story

"Man, I hate when it grains"

"Phew! It sure is graining out there!"

*adjusts tie and looks uncomfortable*
