Best Setting for 60FPS

I recently picked up a FS700 for some video work. I have only ran DSLR's in the past. We usually run 60FPS cause we are filming action sports and you never know when you are going get a good shot that you want to slow down and to help with aliasing. With the FS700 I have noticed that I have a lot of choices for 60FPS. I have been using 60P PS 1080, but noticed that play back is choppy or slow in FCPX.

So is there a better setting I could run that wouldn't have issues with play back in FCPX?

Also when I shoot super slow motion I have been running it on 60FPS, would it be slower over cracking in 24FPS than 60FPS?

Thank you for reading and hope someone on here has a solution.

You need to avoid 60p PS. For 60p, you should set it to 24 FX, that way you get double the data rate per second. The quality difference is very noticeable. The only drawback to 60p using 24 FX verses 60p PS, is that it does not record sound. The way you can tell it's working is when you do playback on the camera, it will playback in slow motion if you choose 24 FX verses PS which plays back in real time and you have to interpolate the frame rate in you NLE.

I can't remember exactly where you change the setting. Might be in S&Q in the menu. Just dig around and you will find it.

I think you miss understood my question. I was asking about running regular frame rates for video with sound. You can choose 60P PS, 60i FX, 60i something and 60P FX 720. I was asking which 60FPS is the best to run for editing later.

Then my other question was running super slow motion. Would it be slower to overcrank (120FPS, 240FPS, 480FPS and 960FPS) at 24FPS or 60FPS?

If you are shooting 60p and you want sound to record with it, I believe 60p PS is the only choice. But the sound sync is completely gone once you've conformed the 60p PS to 24 or 30fps which is what most people do unless you are Peter Jackson, because 60fps looks very video and soap opera like unless its been slowed down. 99% of the time, people use 60p for slow motion purposes. Not sure why anyone would use 60i because its interlaced and 60 FX 720 is half resolution so it's pretty useless, at least for me.

We drop 60P into 24/30FPS timelines all day long on FCPX and sound sync is fine. We shoot 60 so we can slow it down if we need too. Shooting action sports events and you never know when a guy is going to do something, edits have to be back out quick.

I'm looking to see if anyone else is having issues with the 60P PS and it being choppy in any timeline or editing.
