Best SDHC Cards ??

A new HMC150 user here I am wondering which SD cards are the best for this cameras purpose and efficiency. I can't afford to have a lost or broken video so which cards would folks recommend both manufacturer and speed/class?

My considerations in order of my own understanding reliability:

SanDisc
Kingston
PNY
????

The manual says Class 6 and I have seen Class 6 cards from 133x to 300x and from 20mbs to 30 mbs.

I'm also price conscience for those pointing me to the 300 a card route for a 16 Gb and was personally thinking that the NewEgg 16Gb cards at about 90/95 for Extreme III 30mbs/300x seem like a good deal although I see these PNY's with the same specs for 40. I like that 40 real good but anyone have experience thusly?

Thanks in advance for those who respond.

There are several threads on opinions about cards, but I'll throw my .02 in: I'm pretty sold on SanDisk Extreme III 30 mBs cards for performance and peace of mind. I've yet to have a problem with either 16GB or 8GB versions of this brand. I've also used Transcend 8GB cards (bought direct from Transcend USA) with good results, too. The 16GB Transcends sold via NewEgg not so much.

I am getting a little nervous about cards myself. I have 4 Verbatim 16GB Class 6 cards that work perfectly, but I now have a Transcend 16GB card (class 6) and an unbranded 16GB card (class 6) that both work in the computer and other cameras but the HMC says they are unsupported, and will not even attempt to format them or use them in any way. With this in mind, how is any one supposed to know in advance what will and will not work?

Glad to see you got the camera! (Did you actually get three?) I use transcend class 6 cards- I haven't had any problems so far with them. I have used these cards for multiple shoots in a day- where I come back to the office-log/transfer - clean up the card - go back out and shoot some more on the same cards. I've been using the same cards for longer than 9 months - doing probably an average of 4 shoots a week.
The transcend cards were provided to me- so they weren't my first choice- but they have worked great. Ridata- the cards physically fall apart. That's been my experience, anyway.

Thanks for the comments. I just went to B&H and found that they have this super rebate thing going on so went with the Extreme III cards (30mbs) since I've always been a fan of SanDisK (even have their mp3 player from waaaaaaay back) and with the rebate they ended up just a few bucks more than the Ultra's or the Transcend's. Might wanna check it out. I did this when I bought the Nikon's and got 100 back on a Visa Credit Card.

Yup; well really 2. We picked up a Canon HF-S100 for the B Roll Cam 3 becasue we couldn't find any Panny S100's ... and ... we couldn't find out if the Panny did the PH rate while the Canon does for sure it was in the specs. Also, we're going to use them for our broadcast productions, replacing our XH-A1's.

BTW, I have used the Transcend 4Gb and SanDisk 8Gb both at 133x (not like the Exteme III's at 300mbs) and they worked fine but all the shoots for our tests were short clips and on Thursday we have our first big gig with these cameras and the runs will be 30 mins each or longer and I didn't want to chance it . . I'm still nervous about the card thing but on the positive side . . I've been card on my DSLR's since I bought the first one 5 years ago.

So far I am loving the camera and have shot the lowest bit rate in low light and have been amazed that the picture quality is almost as good as the PH high rate which makes me wonder "why" ??

My understanding is that they got some offshoot of the Keebler Elves to come work inside the cameras... So, actually... it's all MAGIC! (Last part said in a Doug Henning type voice)

...That would explain why my camera smells like a bakery all the time...

Aw man... I thought sure you would get the reference!!!

naw it as a joke. thought my comment went well with the one above it about the keebler elves :)

Anyways, I'm returning the HF S100 and going with a TM300 instead. Can't do with out the viewfinder and the HF definitely is not that good in medium light without letting the gain crank and B&H rep said that the TM300 is better in low light. So, looks like I"ll be ALL Panny for this new broadcast unit although we will be shooting in 17mbs and hope that isn't significantly worse than the 24mbs?
