brm might be right afterall, at least as far as rumors are concerned. The lens will be probably a zoom lens but I am not sure yet if it will be the long awaited fast 12-50mm f/2.5-3.3 lens or something else.

But at least they rank the likelihood of their rumors being correct, this one being FT5=81-99% chance the rumor is correct

the best run and gun zoom lens is the one attached to an hmc150 or hpx170!

Something I would question though is how good are the servo zoom mechanisms on these ( cheap - relatively) cameras?
My DVX and HVX had really sucky servo zoom controls. Basically - unuseable - so we didnt use them ever.
What about IS? Don't you miss it?
I do understand the sentiment, but -- remember that the title of this particular thread was asking for a "run 'n' gun zoom lens", and that usually means handheld, and for that purpose IS is quite handy. And at longer focal lengths, I'd almost say necessary.Take that crutch and throw it in the river!
