GH1 Best quality 480p patch

Hi.

I need to shoot a short film for my school assignment and burn it to a dvd.
I was wondering how I should go about doing it. How can I get the best SD quality out of my hacked GH1? What is the best patch, and should I record in HD and downconvert to SD or just shoot SD?

When I know my footage needs to be in SD I normally shoot HD anyways and then convert the final project to 420 in post.
There are a few benefits to this:
1) if compressed right the video quality will look sharper and still have a slight HD feel to it
2) More flexibility in post; it's easier to sharpen a soft image and resizing the footage is less noticeable,
3) I can also render a higher quality version to put online and archive
4) It's less of a hastle than installing and testing a new hack for one shoot when what I already have will work fine.
