Best practices regarding lens change.

Practicing the same precautions as for SLR's is a good idea. It is nice to have a flat horizontal work area. But I prefer to have the camera on sticks when I change lenses. And common sense helps too. Don't do it in a sand storm and shield the camera and bare lens elements from dust etc. Be quick, practice helps as do a pair of helping hands at times, but only if you have your chops down as a team.

Camera on/off makes no difference, I have never shut down a camera just to change lenses.

I haven't the stomach for that.

LOL, I thought you meant stomach as in the nerve, but then I watched the video and about wet my pants! He could almost set that lens vert on his belly!
Yeah, try that on the beach about 10 times. You're bound to drop once.

Thanks for the comments. I've been doing it without turning the camera off as well though I was a little curious if leaving the exposed sensor turned on may have any bad effects. With my Nikon dSLR I always turn off the camera between lens changes since turning the camera on and off is almost instantaneous.
