Best portable drive to edit from....

So I got my new editing laptop....HP Elitebook 8540 workstation. As I only have a 500Gb Internal drive, I want to use a (hopefully) small external drive for my video files.

I have 2 USB 3.0 inputs and i'm seeing a lot of USB3.0 small form factor drives out there....

Just wondering if any users out there can suggest a reliable drive that can be edited from. The only thing I can imagine is an absolute must is 7200rpm or solid state.

thanks for any replies....

Caldigit hard drives are top notch for editing. I've had nothing but good experiences with their drives and their support. They have what looks to be a great new product out that uses USB 3.0 to get similar performance out of a single drive that used to only be possible with 2 drives in RAID 0.

Check out the Caldigit AV Drive:

Looks good...only thing I don't like is they are not bus powered...

I have had good success with the Seagate GoFlex drives. You can switch out connectors for different ports like usb 2/3 or firewire.
