Best Pelican Case for HPX170

I know I've seen a thread posted about the Pelican cases before but was unable to find it. I am in the process of purchasing an HPX170 and would like to buy a Pelican case for it as I will be carrying it on a boat quite a bit. What is the best Pelican case model for the HPX170 camera, preferrably with a little extra space for accessories. Thanks!

take a look at the Portabrace PB2600F for $119

depends on how you define "a little extra space for accessories"
that means different things to different people...

i have a pelican 1610 that holds the 170 w 2 batteries, 8" monitor w 2 batteries, 3 p2 cards and battery chargers and assorted cables quite comfortably

what i like about the pluck foam is that the component spaces get contoured to fit and nothing jostles in transit and one item isnt any more or less apt to shift due to whats around it. it has suited my case needs to get a case that will hold the volume of everything i think that case should, then plan the plucking accordingly. in several years, that logic hasnt failed me.

if some significant change in my gear paradigm occurs, then $100 or so for new foam likely wouldnt be a big deal ; )

I really like to custom pack just the gear I want to bring on a shoot, which is why I've been using pelican divider cases for almost 20 years now. ( mostly for photography, and now video )

To date I've never had any problems shipping gear this way, as long as things were properly padded.

interesting point dingo! i've always used my kata207 backpack for situation specific transport like that. my pelicans end up being used for gear storage as much as transport.

My experience: I had asked online for the same suggestion and someone recommended the Pelican 1520. To me this seemed too small so I went with the 1610.

I have the Pelican 1610 foam lined case. Holds everthing I need (except my stix).

1. HPX
2. Marshall 7" LCD HD Monitor
3. Shotgun Mic
4. 2 Filters
5. 4 P2 Cards / 2 2Gb SD Cards
6. Battery Charger, cables, hot shoe mount for shotgun, remote
7. 8 Batteries
8. Accessories: SDI Cable, Firewire Cable, Composite Cable, Flashlight, 2 AA Bat.
etc.

The wheels are a great feature for this case as well.

Thanks for all the input. The 1510 and 1610 units were two of the one's I was considering. I may opt for the larger one now and pick up a smaller unit when I need it for travel in the future.

and just for conversation sake. seems to me a lot of folks get real hung up on "carry on"
maybe i just have good travel karma, but ive traveled around the world (often to some pretty sketchy airports) with my camera and nearly EVERY time ive checked the camera in a pelican 1610 or bigger and ive never, not once had any kind of issue.
