best option for streaming netflix?

Looking for a woman
i'm looking for some input on what to buy on black friday. the kids like to watch cartoons on netflix with my playstation 3, but i'm looking for another option (so they aren't hogging the ps3). which do you think would be best for netflix streaming, a blu-ray player, an xbox, or something else?

An Xbox 360 Arcade is only $199. Unless you already have a 360, then I'd go with a cheap to lower priced blu-ray player that has Netflix capability.

I am happy with the Blu-Ray player. Does Netflix, Amazon too. And it was like $150.

Right now my set-up is Blu_Ray/streaming thing, and an Apple TV - older one. I keep the Apple TV because the streaming is not yet up to snuff. It's fine for a lot of stuff, but if your connection slows down, it gets junky. So for things I really want to savor, I get them on iTunes, and download, so there is no interruption in quality. And I think the iTunes HD has gotten really nice.

I like having it my PS3/Blu-ray player because it has built-in wifi. So I can download revisions to the Netflix interface as soon as they're available. The jump between the last incarnation and the current one was huge. Has a much nicer UI now.

i should mention i already have a blu-ray player, but it doesn't have wi-fi.

i've seen a sony blu-ray player with wi-fi for $150.

the xbox 360 is going to be $199 with a $50 gift card at target on black friday. so essentially the same as the blu-ray player after the gift card. the only downside is i'll have to pay for the xbox live membership.

I stream mine through my Samsung BD player. Got it for $150ish last winter. No WiFi, but I just plug it into my router. It also does Blockbuster (does that exist anymore?), Pandora and YouTube.

I could go through the XBox, but it just feels nicer using the remote.

is the image quality the same between the two?

I ran CAT5 under the house from the router to the Samsung BD player. Much faster (and less expensive) than the WiFi option (for which we run N). I love our Samsung player, though I like the Pandora GUI interface on my friend's Sony better!

Does the samsung BD player have "search" now? My parents have one hooked up, but last I saw they could only choose from what was already on the instant queue. I know they just added it to the PS3, so maybe that does it now too. Video stream looks good though, of course that's hard-wired to U-Verse.

The Wii. It streams wirelessly rather smoothly. And you do not have to have the disc in any more..it is a download now. You can search and add to your queue from the Wii/Netflix interface, unlike my freakin Tivo HD (come on TiVo update my box so I can a simple search and drop something in to watch without having to login online!!)
Obviously you are giving up a bit because it does not have hdmi out..but if it's for the kids? you got a decent streamer and a game system that they will enjoy alot.

LG BD590 bluray player. Streams Netflix fantastically, I also use DLNA to stream from my computer. And I've been using the Vudu rental service for recent stuff, if your connection is fast enough the 1080P on Vudu looks fantastic.
