Best online retailer for HMC152 (i.e. PAL HMC150) who will ship international?

New Zealander here looking for HMC152 since Panasonic in NZ seem determined to price the thing off the market - best quote I have had is NZ$7800 = US$5600!!!

Yeah, right.

Wondering if other PAL users could recommend an online retailer who ships internationally?

Really want the PAL version of the HMC.

Advice appreciated.

Video Guys in Australia? There is a shop in Melbourne and they don't stock the the HMC152, they aren't even Panny dealers anymore. I bought my DVX from them 2 years ago and they got me a good price. When I bought my HMC152 they quoted me low $7k which is a ripp off too.

Best place for you buddy is www.globalmediapro.com, I got mine landed here for $5000AUD

I bought mine from Electronicbazaar.com.au for $5000 with Australian Tax Invoice.

Must say I'm having all sorts of problems with Globalmediapro now as they are not able to supply two batteries I ordered and they have NO phone number and won't refund money, so I would now recommend electronic bazaar as you can talk to a REAL person, and they answer their emails.

Cheers,

Vaughan

Vaughan. was it a Pal model, their website shows NTSC specs and price $4779 inc GST?

I'm just about ready to purchase.

Hi Rambo,

Why support a grey marketer when you can get a 152 from a local Bris Dealer for around $5,500 inc GST. You'll get a genuine 3 year warranty instead of none... and an autothorised Dealer to deal with. If people bother to talk to the local Dealers they'd find it's not significantly dearer to buy locally.

Rob when i said i was ready to purchase i didn't mean from the Grey Market, i am interested in what their prices are just to compare with local. Actually i've already been in contact with Mathew Alexander product Manager at Pana Broadcast who gave me 4 dealers in Brisbane to contact about a HMC 152. The Panasonic Australia website does not list Dealers so i had to email Matthew to find out who sold them. Also only one of the 4 has stock in shop, so i still haven't had one in my hands yet. Yes the 3 year warranty is a big attraction.

Also interested in the new POV cam AG-HMR10 AVCCAM recorder and AG-HCK10 POV camera. That is my specialist area.

Visiting a local dealer early next week.

I'd love to see this,,,, I was quoted from Provisual $6800, they are a Brissy dealer and he told me he couldn't do any better. Panasonic Australia need to look after their dealers a bit better,,,, in the end local aussies dealers are in competition with the grey marketers and unfortunately are forced to sell a product with little or no margin to stay competitive.

Yes, Rambo it was a AG-HMC152E. Two pronged power lead though.

At least you can ring up Electronic Bazaar and deal with one person.

Best other quote I had was from John Barry Melbourne.

The low 5k price from an Authorized dealer as Rob Myers said has to be worth the 3 year warranty, that's good enough for me., especially if i can go to the shop, handle the cam and do some simple tests in store.

Thanks for the replies on this guys - I thought this thread had gone dead. I started a bit of a war amongst the NZ dealers by showing them US and UK prices - I got lots of excuses as to why it has to be so expensive in NZ - including from Panasonic themselves who chimed in at one point. But I did get offered a VERY low price - too low to tell you who. I suggest for any Kiwis reading this - go back and bargain - Panasonic say 8300 + GST on their site - resellers quote 7100 - 7300 + GST - but they will go lower.

A lot of bad feedback about Electronics Bazaar - I nearly pulled the trigger with them til I searched for feedback...

yeah - NZ finds itself in exactly this position. I could order my whole kit from a famous US photo video place and have it delivered in 3 days to NZ for $1500 less than buying it locally - even after I haggled the price down

Something is seriously wrong in this part of the world

I am so tempted to quote the answer I got from Panasonic NZ about this - it was quite rude which suggests the problem isn't just from panasonic JP to Panasonic NZ but also local - but I won't because I need to buy more gear soon and I don't want to fall out with them or the resllers
