I'm looking for a good directional mic for my DVX100B - Anyone have any good suggestions on what kind I should get? It's for a feature length film. I probably can't spend more than 300 on it. Thanks in Advance

I'd read the stickies in the audio forum and think about your shooting environment and go from there. I'd budget for a boom pole as well. I'd take a cheaper crappier mic on a pole in the right spot than any mic on the camera any day.

i own an azden SGM-2X and in my opinion it is really good for what you pay - around 220. of course if you save up more you could get better quality but it certainly is a bargain. and you can also use it either as a shotgun mic OR a regular omnidirectional mic.

I would check these guys out:

http://www.dvcreators.net/shotgun-shootout/

They tested out a lot of different shotgun mics and I was shocked to hear the difference. I was originally looking to buy the AT897 - but after listening to the tests, I decided to buy the Sennhieser ME66. Their tests were on a boom, but the overall audio quality sounds remarkable...

I should add too, that when listening to the tests, do so with your editing monitors/speakers.. you will hear the difference between the mics easily.
