Shopping for mics, if anyone can link me to a good cold shoe mic for the fx1?

That’s a pretty open question. Do you have a price range?
For $150 you can get a Rode VideoMic. It has a built in battery and mini-plug so it will plug right into the FX1. I’ve tried this on my Z1 and it sounds way better than the on-camera mic.
For $250 you can get an Audio-Technica AT897. It also has built-in battery and you could use an XLR to mini cable to plug it into the FX1 since the length will be short. I’ve got one of these on order (haven’t received it yet)
Both are good for the FX1 because they don’t require external phantom power.
If you get a Beachtek with phantom power, then you can pretty much pick and choose any mic you want but the Beachtek alone costs more than the Rode VideoMic so it depends on what your budget is.

Get that little Sennheiser with the miniplug. At least it looks cool, and that's about the only compelling reason to use an on-camera shotgun mic. Hope this helps.
