Best method to capture timelapses on the A7s?

Does anyone have a preferred workflow for capturing timelapses on the a7s? I'm going to the Micronesian islands in a week and would love to create a few timelapses. Do I need an intervalometer for the a7s or do the apps work well now?

I have the app but I prefer use an intervalometer... the app crash a lot

I have the play memories app. It's pretty good and worth the money. I just got a remote for $20 though as I miss not being able to adjust manual controls after the program has started. So I reccomend both.

I recommend an intervalometer. I wasn't able to get the silent pictures feature to work with the apps. And doing a timelapse with the "shutter" flapping away is kinda annoying. So I bought a intervelameter and it's awesome.
