Best method for SD to HD upconvert. Blackmagic? Aja?

I will be creating an action sports documentary starting in a few months, and most of our guys will be shooting with the HVX, but some will be shooting with the DVX.

I want the final product to be 720P HD, and am searching for the best way at a reasonable price to upconvert the anamorphic 23.98 DVX shots to match my 720P project.

I have been looking at the Blackmagic and Aja products, but (forgive my ignorance) I can't figure out which product actually performs the upcoversion. Is it the Blackmagic Multibridge Pro, or maybe the Aja Kona 3? The Blackmagic seems to be more affordable.

Which product is the one I'm looking for, and what would be my basic workflow? I am working on a PowerMac G5 with FCP 6.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Thanks Jim.

What exactly is the basic workflow for upconverting from anamorphic DVX footage on miniDV tape to the 720P footage end result I want? I have never used hardware like this, so I am unfamiliar with it.

Thanks.

You have the Kona 3 on what system ? PC, Mac ? And yes, whats the workflow ? Thanks in advance...

Kona 3 is only Mac. The AJA Xena is their PC board.

I honestly think your best shot at decent uprez from miniDV to 720p is take it to a post house if you are unfamiliar with the workflow and don't own the equipment.
