does anyone have any suggestions as to the best settings to make the image look most like film? I rented my camera out and am not sure if they changed the settings.
So: what should i have the master ped at for example? as well as the other menu settings?
thanks.
David
i guess to clarify. i dont know if i was using the stock settings previously. i did notice that a lot of the settings were set to zero after i got the camera back, and i thought i remembered certain settings that i had were set at different numbers (like the master ped).
Anyways,
my question is: can I get a dvx shooters opinion as to what settings they find most emulates film look?
thanks.
Seems like there have been a lot of people looking but not so many contributing. Oh, well.... Hopefully, it might help someone find a look they're after.
Per your question, hwoodfilm, I can't say that there are any "best settings" for film-look. After all, what type of film do you want it to look like? I know - silly non-response but you could ask 5 different shooters about their scene files and, most likely, get 5 different responses. Add to that different settings for different set-ups and on and on......
Andy Starbuck pretty much laid it all out in this 'sticky' post:
