They're an indian based company. It's hard to get a hold of them, but they're fast. I ordered their mattebox, and recieved it the same week I ordered it.

a 12 ft jib for $335 on cinecity? Am I mistaken or is that an awesome deal? (I never really looked into jibs, but that sounds like a great price.

I'd also like to mention that I just went through a bunch of your videos NextWave...great stuff.

I'd be a bit cautious when buying other products from CineCity. Besides their mattebox, I've read bad reviews on most of their products. The price of their jib + shipping, would almost equal the amount of Kesslers KC-8 Basic Jib.

The shoulder mount I get, but why do you need a matte box? Are you going to use 4x4s?

I'm always curious as to why people who don't use filters use a matte box on SLR lenses that have lens hoods.

My reason for wanting a matte box is very superficial...it just makes the camera look that much more professional. We cater to a consumer base who is oblivious to the current renaissance in vdslrs and going into a professional job with something puny makes them feel like their not getting their moneys worth.

At least, thats how I would rationalize it.

Where are the Cine City folks located? I would love to get one of their kits, but I need it shipped by Saturday. Any body know?

i got my indirailspro rig for $190 shipped ebay, mattebox im going to DIY teddybear style (check the DIY section for his tutorial), should only cost another $10-15 or so.

jon!

Yeah, Tim is the best over there at IndiFocus. I just ordered a shoulder pad and handles upgrade for my IndieRAILpro.

I think MBs come in to their own if you have big rig

lets say you have 8 different primes of 6 different diameters

let say you want 8 different filters (nd, colour correction, grads etc)

you end up needing 6*8=48 differnt filters

at that point drop in filters (6) become the no brainer

Additionally a good MB can protect from ofscreen light (flare) better than a DLSR hood

personally I have a couple of NDs and a Step down ring and am happy

I mislaid my tabacco grad in 1976 - this was probably a good thing
