Best Matte Box for HVX

I got my Chroziel 41150 on Rush's last day of work. It's a sweet matte box.

I've got a Redrock Micro M2, so I bought the matte box without the rods and then got a set of 6" rods from Cinetech so I can use the base plate with the matte box when I'm not using the M2 (the M2 rods are about 2 feet long).

Petroff makes an awesome 4x5 MB (accepts either tray and up to 4x stages!) If you get it with the rods support option you'll be able to take it to any pro or dv camera out there.

When you out grown your camera, you won't be stuck with a MB that's only works with the old cam.

I.

I have been look at 16X9 inc site and they have this 450-HVX200K2 Chrosziel matte box. How does this compare to 41150. This particular one is the entire rig but you can get it as just mattebox and rods or sunshade. I curious if anyone had seen this one.

Can anyone comment on the main differences between the Chrosziel 4x5.65 and the Petroff 4x5?

On one hand the Petroff seem to be a more adjustable MB, with the ability to add filter stages and rotate them 360 degrees - but the Chrosziel seems to be the box of choice among people on the forum. Any reason why?

Is there any drawback to the Petroff? Adaptability to other products, build quality, ease of use, etc?

I have the same system as Barry (Chrosziel FULL mattebox HVX kit with rails & sidewings- 450-HVXkit), it is somewhat expensive at first glance, but when you outfit the HVX with it for the first time- you wont think twice.

As Barry said a while back, buy the best and only cry once...

I love the design of the Chrosziel, it makes the HVX look like a full cinema rig(Set as my Avatar/display pic). It has great filter stages and lockable side wings too! .

When purchasing I was hung up on whether to buy Petroff or Chrosziel- in the end it just comes down to build quality and design. The Chrosziel is a top notch German masterpiece in all regards; very solid, all metal, (except for shade, which is a very hard coated plastic same as the Arri Matteboxes i believe) even the filter stages are solid metal.
The Petroff is made up here in Canada and while it is a very well built unit, it is all plastic, but would be my second choice- love the add-on filter stage idea.

I have no experience with Vocas, but from what i hear everyone seems to be very happy with them.

This one goes out to Barry: Heard you switched from Chrosziel to a Vocas matte box. I can't find much in on them (Vocas). Did you switch due to the Century Optics? And how do you like the Vocas overall?
