First,  My greenscreen DVX100 music video for the Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players just premiered on Subterranean on MTV2.  I'll post when it's airing again or see it now on the web)

I'm asking ths boards help getting it played again.

I'm asking people to email MTV asking to see it again, or saying your heard about it and want to see it, or that you saw this great little girl drummer on Sunday night at midnight.

please send a simple email to feedback@mtv.com note address was corrected

Call them the Slideshow Family, or The Trachtenbergs.

Here is the link to see it on the web.

Thier site is www.slideshowplayers.com and this real family takes vintage discarded slides from the 50's through 70's and write songs about them.

Thanks in advance- this could really help my friends and I (the Family) to make a living at this.

I just bought the dvx100a from www.tristatecamera.com

for $3229.00    It is fully legit USA- no BS (course they get you for a little extra shipping) and I have been buying from them for a few years here in NYC.  I also bought the Century optics .6 wide angle lens for $300.

Paul is my salesman- tell him about this forum- I'll try to tell him to give people good deals on shipping becuase I'm metioning them for free.

I saw it on MuchMusic up in Canada! Freaky dude. Some crazy cats in that show. Loved it. And would love to see it again. Just to hear the little girls (the drummer) commments on her sugar, and white bread and butter diet. And yes, running a candy store could be a good side carreer for her. You got my vote deadhead.

All the best,
Dale

Wow Thanks Dale for the heads up!!! We didn't even know much music was playing it yet. Any positive emails to MTV or Muchmusic would be much appreciated.

Also my DVX100a is coming today- can;t wait to get it as I sold the 100 I shot the video with.

For the record, I used to buy things from TriState, but after receiving "USED" merchandise (scratches, obvious wear, repackaging, etc) and being treated like dirt for calling and complaining, they'll not be receiving any more of my business.

Just wanted to post my experience. This was a few years ago though.

That was great, deadhead. How about writing up a little something on how you did the production. The video is nicely done and that damn song is growing on me.

That was awesome!  Mountain Trip will be in my skull for awhile!  Great job.  The theme really worked for this!  I love this band!  Reminds me of The Dead Milkmen for some reason.  Great!

"Mountain Trip to old Japan - Ninteen Fifty......... Niiiiiiiiiiine"

:D

And get this thing over to the Frame Grabs section! And I sent the email out!

Wow- thanks all for the kind words and sending an email to MTV on our behalf.

I should do a small writeup about the production.  I had major problems keying certain shots but I haven't been able to ascertain exactly why that was. (since I don't have acess to a greeenscreen stage)

It seemed like there was some noise in some of the channels- making for some very noisey keys.  Maybe cinegamma had to do with it- I had the default settings on the 24P mode.    I will do some major testing before I do a keying project with a DVX again.

Just FYI all the editing and rough composites were done in FCP.  Then used autoduck to bring everything in After Effects for the final keying (using Ultimatte Advantage and Primatte)  and touches like bevel edges on the inside of the slide mounts where the layer behind- ( which was video) shows through.  It really helped to sell the effect that the video was behind the slidemount.

Autoduck let me keep all the layering and sizing i did in FCP intact once in the After effects timeline- I love this plugin and highly reccomend it.
