Ive read for the past few hours about LCD monitors. I am not a professional, and dont film in the field everyday. Im looking for something light weight, good quality, cheap, and will allow me to get better focus than my onboard LCD. (DVX owner)

i use a redrock which i love, and yesterday while filming in Scotland, it was to bright out to even see my LCD and i was guessing at focus.

is the Ikan HD or even a different Ikan my best option or is there something that is 100% better for a little more money. I cant afford a monitor with all the best features, but again, i am a non proift so i have to do my best with the tiny budget i have.

thx

1. Use the viewfinder to focus in bright sun.
2. Use a focus card.
3. Get a nice big tape measure and measure from the focal plane of the camera.
4. Get a hoodie for your dvx's lcd.
5. Learn of the wonders of DOF

All of these together are cheaper than the lcd you seek.
